Twenty six players braved the heat and turned out for the Men’s Golf Association 1-Man Scramble last week. Only 2 players decided that air conditioning was more attractive than finishing the round, leaving 3 nicely balanced flights.
Buddy Antwine won the first flight with a net score of 66, followed by Don Bateman with 67 and Roy Rodriguez with 68. Ted Brown won the second flight with 65, followed by Bryan Henson’s 68 and John Palmer’s 69.
Mike Dobrsenski carded a net 70 to win the third flight. Braxton Beall and Bob Bashaw both shot 73. Beall won the scorecard playoff to take second place.
The Wednesday noon game at the Flying L Golf Course will move to 11:00 this coming Wednesday, August 14. The move is for this week only.
