Cowboy Classic Champs Crowned

The 2019 Cowboy Classic was dedicated to Margie Salyers. Margie passed away unexpectedly last November, leaving us all stunned and sad. Even though she did not play golf she was a great friend to all of us at the Flying L and a fixture at post-tournament gatherings. It is only fitting that her husband, Bobby Salyers, was part of the low net championship team.

The men’s and ladies’ champions come as no surprise to those of us who frequent the Flying L. Kyle Broll and Sean Murray are both club champions, and two champion make for an exceptional team. Anita Kopplhuber is a consistent tournament winner and one of the most dedicated players at the club. It’s a rare day that she can’t be found out on the golf course, sharpening her skills.

All the participants owe a special debt of thanks to Larry and Louise Henson. They did their usual great job organizing and running the event. Their dedication and energy never cease to amaze us.

As a final note, those of you who read the last post should take special note of this new photo of my golf books. You will see that the vertical supports in the bookshelf are now painted. So some fantasies can come true!

The side supports are painted!
