However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results. — Winston Churchill
This has been a memorable year we’d all like forget, but the Flying L Couples League soldiered on through COVID-19 masks and summer heat. The season-ending 2-day tournament is usually played in the (relative) cool of May, but 18 heat-tempered couples turned out in late August for the 2-day scramble capping the 2020 couples league.
The winners deserve an extra round of applause for their stamina, and Boy Scout Troop 947 deserves a standing ovation for their help. We thank them for everything they do, and thank the tee box sponsors for supporting their programs.
And while we’re standing and applauding, let’s all thank Louise and Larry “Gimme Twenty” Henson. This place wouldn’t know what to do without their organizational skills. And it was great to see Arnie Segura back at the scoreboard. His calligraphy makes our scores look a lot better than they really are.

These results are also posted in the full season’s results record, here.
Don’t forget the Cowboy Classic, coming up September 18-20.
The next MGA event is a 2-Man Shamble on September 2. Tee time is 11:00 AM.
Another great writing Charlie! I especially liked the Larry “Gimme Twenty” Henson … 😅
And how about our oxygenerian first flight CHAMPIONS Jim and Carole Martin?!?! 👏🏌️♂️🏌️♀️👏 Woo Hoo!!
